About this image

This sub 10m diameter NEO is due to make a close flyby of the Earth tomorrow (Sept 24.45) well inside the geostationary satellite orbit (see here and here). This image was taken when it was 740,000 km away. Tonight (Sept 23/24)  the range will be down to 244,000 km at midnight and it will be moving rapidly south. The Earth's gravity significantly affects the orbit (see here) and makes it a potentially hazardous object for Venus.
