About this image

With an unexpected clear sky in the midle of the day I managed to image Venus while it was high enough although at 14 arc seconds it is tiny compared to earlier in the year.  Try as I might I couldn't get anything sensible to process with my ASI174 and Baader UVenus filter, but the ASI462 with three filters, the basic luminance/IR cut and then 742nm IR pass annd Methane/CH4 filter at 880-900nm with its larger image size did enable me to capture some interesting images.  On the methane/CH4 in particular there is a faint hint of picking up something in the atmosphere of Venus.   The luminance image is the best 10% of one stack of 7,000 frames, the 742nm IR pass is the best 10% of two 10,000 frame sequences added together  and the two methane/CH4 images are both differnt versions of the same stacks of the best 10% of seven 10,000 frame videos, then each of the final seven images captured over about a 15minute period have themselves been stacked.
