Taurus Molecular cloud and environs

About this image

A favourite area of mine with many well known objects surrounding a dark star-forming (?) region in Taurus. Even in a relatively dark sky a CLS filter makes a big improvement in contrast - Deep Sky Stacker saved as FITS, and post processed in AstroArt 5 using adaptive subtract gradient (flat field) and curves. Contrast adjusted with Paint Shop Pro 5.
