About this image

In a rarely clear sky I went out just before dawn to photograph Cygnus rising from the eastern horizon. However, I was shocked to notice a chain of fast and bright satellites crossing the sky. The displayed pic was stacked from 80 frames 1/2sec exposure each at ISO 4000 using my Nikon d7500.

Obviously they were Space X new starlink satellites, I guess they were 60 launched in one go. I also made a timelapse video though cant publish it here unfortunately.

The new light pollution threat and no way to turn them off - all for commercial gain.
Nice picture, but the subject is troubling me.

Hi Tim, you are absolutely right, it's very worrying and there's no sign that Elon Musk will be painting his satellites in black as he promised earlier, also the IAU seems to have no powers at all in this matter:(
