About this image

I've been trying for Hanny's Voorwerp for a few years, but this is the most convincing shot yet. Discovered by Hanny Van Arkel in 2007 as part of the Galaxy Zoo project, this mysterious green blob is a light echo caused by UV radiation from a now extinct quasar at the heart of IC2497.
