Two transients in M33

About this image

This patrol image of M33 has captured two faint transient objects, AT2021wcf is in a very crowded part of the field and is adjacent to a faint star. The inset shows the field at 0".54 arcsec/pixel (the native resolution binned 2x2) compared with the DSS. The cross on the DSS image is the location of the transient. AT2021wfc is much easier since it is outside the main galaxy. It was discovered by ZTF around 10 hours after this image was taken.
