About this image

Our old friend 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko is returning to the inner Solar System after transporting its human artefacts, Rosetta and Philae, out to aphelion and back. This is a really good return and the comet is already showing a nice tail. It is currently in the morning sky but will be well placed for us throughout the autumn and winter.
