About this image

This Potentially Hazardous Asteroid (Apollo type) became visible from UK latitudes on January 18. The weather allowed me to record it on the following evening and on 3 other occasions up to Jan 27, when it was near Deneb. I didn't get any more data because it was getting lower in the NW sky, over neighbours' rooftops and was accompanied by breezy conditions, not conducive to good astrometry to mag 16.

NEODyS-2 uses MPC data to derive a Near Earth Object's residuals in RA, Dec, magnitude and a chi-squared data quality assessment. The diagram shows these residuals for observers using standard CCD/CMOS astrometry and my video astrometry (Z92). NEODyS magnitude residuals are obtained from observers' G, R and V estimates. In the chi-squared results, values nearer to 0 are assessed as being better quality.
