About this image

I still recall looking for M33 in an f/10 60mm refractor from North London when I was about 12. I failed. Just too dim and diffuse for somewhere that had 15 street lights within 100m.

Anyway, this is with the 300mm which I am still learning to drive. There were floodlights on, a few houses down, but I managed to get rid of most the sky glow. DDP helped. I don't normally use it but for this it did a pretty good job at emphasising detail - the AA8 instance of it seems to produce less exaggerated outputs than it did 10 years ago.

Really, I need a bigger CCD for this object but I'm happy that at least I'm starting to get the hang of the instrument.
