About this image

It was near the equinox: tick. It was quite clear: tick. The moon was out the way: tick.

So it was time for my annual attempt to get the zodiacal light. While the telescope imaged the cone nebula I set up the Canon on a tripod.  I went though several ISOs from 200 upward and just kept trying different exposure length. Looked better on the viewfinder - binning perhaps.

Think I would have done better with the full frame sensor, and using RAW mode is essential I believe, as the feature is low surface brightness. Shame the neighbours were doing stuff in the garden still, but it still looks plausible. Not a patch on the pic I got at La Palma, but the travel cost less.
