This small planetary nebula was discovered by Ralph Copeland (the third Astronomer Royal for Scotland) in September 1884. In this image, it appears as a slightly distorted ball with no sign of structure.

Apparent diam. 0.3'. Apparent mag. 10.5. Distance c.11,800ly. Age (outer halo) c.28,000 years.
