About this image
The Bubble Nebula NGC 7635, is an emission nebula located approx 7,000 light-years away, in the constellation Cassiopeia. It is a Ha (Hydrogen Alpha, red colour) rich Nebula. It is 7 light-years across.
Total integration time was 14hrs i.e. 2.5hrs of L-eXtreme (one night in Sept 2020) and 11.5hrs L-Pro (recent data – over 8 nights during May to June 2022).
I have been processing this DSO for about a month – learning so much as I go, as always with this amazing hobby.
This project is the first time I have successfully combined L-eXtreme data with L-Pro data. Also, apart from Stacking the data in DSS, all the processing was done in PixInsight. That is, I used to do DSS, PixInsight then finish off in Photoshop & Topaz Denoise but I have ‘found’ NoiseXTerminator. Also, I used brilliant new ‘Star reduction’ process tools free from Bill Blanshan, watch @Lukomatic YouTube video & I learnt how to combine Ha with RGB from VisibleDark YouTube video.
I am very happy with my progress to-date but realise there is still so much to learn – looking forward to it :)
Clear skies all.
Martina
