About this image

Callum set IC1613 as the October 2022 observing challenge for the Deep Sky Section.

IC1613 is a member of the Local Group of galaxies, at a distance of 700kpc. The image shows a number of bright HII regions.

In the upper right the edge on galaxy UGC 711 can been seen, zoom in below 29 Cet and you will see the Galaxy Cluster Abell 147

Processed with Pixinsight and Lightroom

With poor skies in the south of England, decided to observe at one of the iTelescope remote observatories.
