About this image

The DART mission impact ejected a considerable amount of dust,  seen in the image as a tail.  The asteroid sky motion was 2.44"/min in PA 045.  This is 10 x 60s frames track-and-stacked in Astrometrica.  Magnitude is R15.8.  The asteroid at the time was 1 deg NE of Procyon (alpha CMi) at 07 49 26 +06 29 17 (2000).     Image is N-up and ca 0.3 degree across.

The inspiration comes from a request to monitor ejecta during stellar occultations. The cloud looks quite dense near the main bodies. (Possibly)
