About this image

Clouds cleared mid afternoon giving me just enough time to allow me to run a few test scans in the Hydrogen alpha wavelength after having spent the best part of Wednesday evening (2nd) putting the instrument together (3D printing carried out by Azure3DPrint in France).  Optical set supplied by Shelyak consisting of 10um slit with 80mm focal length collimator,25x25mm  2400l/mm grating and a 125mm focal length doublet for the science camera,a QHY5III 178M. Slew speed of 16x was used to force the scan and image reconstructed in MAIN_SER Ver 3.6.2 and Astrosurface/Photoshop CS2 used for minimal processing.

Very nice result, Alun.

What bandwidth does your setup give you? I would guess from the strong contrast that it's significantly narrower than the H-alpha filter instruments such as the PST.
