The String of Pearls Galaxy

About this image

From my backyard in Manchester, I can't see anything lower than -25°Dec (also due to light pollution from Manchester Airport). Hence was very keen to find nice targets below -30°Dec at my remote telescope in Morocco, which we can never see from most of the UK.

The String of Pearls Galaxy (NGC 55) in Sculptor is an amazing object that lies at -39°Dec. It reaches a max +20° alt. when crossing meridian.

Nice image, and prompted me to have a go when I am next far enough south. Thanks!
