About this image

Three images of Mars. On the left, a red light image to emphasise the dark surface markings. On the right hand side is a blue light image which highlights atmospheric clouds and in the centre a RGB composite of these two images together with one in green light.

Solis Lacus is just above the centre of the disk. Mare Erythraeum stretches to its left. At the 4pm and 5pm positions on the limb the red spots are Olympus Mons and Alba Mons respectively. Note the considerable amount of cloud, particularly to the South easily visible in the blue and RGB images.
