About this image

This short GIF covering 40 minutes of Saturn in IR shows a storm feature in the southern hemisphere rotating with Saturn.  I've deliberately over-sharpened Saturn to bring out the feature more clearly.  First detected in the Southern hemisphere this year a few weeks ago, it is known as the '55' storm as it rotates at around 55 degrees South on Saturn.

This is relatively long lived feature which has been detected in high res images  for much of this apparition.
