About this image

This comet had a large outburst on November 21 followed by smaller outbursts over the next three days. The comet is fading now but the multiple outbursts have led to a very complex coma shape. This image shows the bright expanding inner coma from the multiple recent outbursts superimposed on the fainter outer coma.
