About this image

First Great Red Spot image taken in years - I kept missing it - mainly due to bad timing and weather.  Difficulties with moisture inside SCT tube fogging up when using dew heater band - corrector plate inside de-fogged with hairdryer.  Need to sort humidity in my roll-off roof observatory.  Temperature was around -2c at time of imaging with 20mph wind gusts.  Seeing was moderate - after the tube currents dispersed.  Captured using SharpCap 4.1 (64bit), processed with Registax followed by AstroArt 8.0 (a few iterations of stretch, unsharp mask, Gauss, RL deconvolution)
