About this image

Corrected with input from Martin Lewis. It is the same NTB outbreak.

Bright white spot in infrared, different location to the previous outbreak but still the original having drifted.

Hi Mark,

I believe this is the original NTB outbreak, which was L1 168° L3 30° on 10th Jan when it was discovered, but which was said by John Rogers to likely drift by ~-5deg/day for L1 and ~-12deg/day for L3. That would put it about where you computed that spot be in your image. Your image I think has incorrectly calculated CMs. According to Winjupos at 23.19UT on 18th should be L1 153° L2 159° L3 315°.

Regards, Martin

Thanks Martin. I was beginning to think it was the same one having drifted a long way.

I'll correct the CMs.

Thanks
