About this image

Inset a) shows a magnified view of the nebula in which the black square surrounds an area with a faint shadow running across it. For comparison to aid seeing it, inset b) shows the nebula at a time when the shadow was not present.

The shadow has weakened a lot since my last Hind's VN posting showing it in February this year, and I think it has rotated upwards by ~40 degrees. This shadow has now been present for about one year which is a lot longer than the previous occasion when it was only around for ~2 months in October 2023.
