About this image

A nice Perseid meteor I caught in the early hours of 1 August 2026. The bright star at the bottom of the frame is Altair in Aquila. The Perseid is mostly in Vulpecula but ends in Sagitta. Delphinus can be seen to the lower left of the meteor. In the finest tradition of meteor photography, the trail of the Perseid is only partially caught in the frame.
