I have had a passion for astronomy since I was a young boy. As with many of us out there, my inspiration was driven by the late, great, Sir Patrick Moore. I was lucky enough to be invited around to his house for an evening’s viewing late in 1973. A memory I will always treasure. When I left school and started working, I slipped away from hands on observational astronomy and tended more towards looking at published text/data and computer (arm-chair) applications. In my older age I was determined to make up for lost experiences and have built my own observatory and kitted it out with the latest hardware. Now, once again, I too can look out each night hoping for clear viewing and braving those British winters!
