Variability was observed by the amateur astronomers Spaeni, Rusch, and Eisenring in 2014 and later described by Dahm and Hillenbrand ( https://sites.astro.caltech.edu/~lah/hbc340/ ). They found variability, in the nebula around the accreting variable stars HBC340 and HBC341 – which are located within the south western portion of NGC1333. Observations of this small fan-like nebula are reported only 2-3 times a year and, as yet, it has not shown any variability in form or brightness since discovery in 2017.

A sequence of observations of the photometry of the two faint variable stars and the nebula extending over a year or two would be very worthwhile – especially if undertaken with a larger aperture telescope.
