Jupiter in 2018, Report no.4
Despite Jupiter’s southerly declination, northern observers can still get very useful images. Here are 4 sets of images in 2018 May from observers in northern temperate latitudes, even up to Scotland.
Features of interest include:
–The S. Tropical Disturbance looks likely to complete it passage past the GRS soon, and has not re-formed on the p. side.
–Two anticyclonic white ovals in the S2 domain (S2-AWOs) are converging, as pointed out by Chinese observer Zong Haiyang. (They are arrowed in the last image set.) They could merge in the coming days or weeks: please observe!
