Report no.4

Jupiter in 2025/26, Report no.4

John Rogers [BAA],  (2025 Dec.31),

including data from the JUPOS team (Gianluigi Adamoli, Rob Bullen, Michel Jacquesson, H-J. Mettig, Marco Vedovato)

This is a report on Jupiter’s atmospheric features from August up to mid-December.  As we noted in Report no.3 (with the latest maps), there are no major changes in the planet’s atmospheric features, but the NEB northern extension and the EZ shading are both fading, as they gradually recover from the big changes in the previous two years.  This report gives further details of many features, including sets of maps to track them throughout the apparition, and data on drift rates from the JUPOS team.  We are very grateful to all the observers who sent images.
