Charles Beton

For me it was the great, early 1960's, TV SF shows for kids, and a kids' periodical called New Knowledge, that got me into astronomy (and joining the Junior Astronomical Society), as much as Patrick Moore and the Space Race. Beginner astrophotographer: since the 60's! My ambition of becoming a professional having been thwarted by my careers master, I was an Open University astro/physics undergraduate 2011-18, so no time otherwise for astrophotography! But the covid-19 "lock-down" has given me time for visual observing (in between armchair epidemiology). BAA member since 1991, and FRAS.
