This workshop is a great opportunity for anyone needing a little help with the software for processing their spectra. We will be covering the two software packages BASS Project and ISIS. To get the most out of the workshop attendees should bring along a laptop with the software installed.

Doors will open at 9:30 and the workshop will be divided into a morning session from 10am-1pm and an afternoon session 2pm-5pm. Each session will concentrate on one of the software packages. They will start with an instructor led run through of how to process spectra, followed by attendees trying it for themselves with help on hand.

The workshop is being held at the Birmingham & Midland Institute and has been jointly funded by the Equipment & Techniques and Variable Star Sections of the BAA.

We are lucky to have John Paraskeva, the author of BASS Project, leading the session on his software.

The ISIS session will be led by David Boyd.

Food and drink will not be provided but there are nearby cafes where sandwiches may be bought.

The venue is a short walk from Birmingham New Street train station and nearby parking facilities are listed on the BMI website via the Visit Us -> Find Us menu options.
