The sky mapped in Halpha – by amateurs

Hello all,

I just wanted to highlight what I think is a fantastic project led by Dennis Di Cicco, Sean Walker and the late David Mittelman to map the sky (accessible from New Mexico) in Halpha. DDC talks about it in October’s S&T. There is now quite a lot of work being done by amateurs in this space (no pun intended). Look for example at the very deep imaging by BAA member Peter Goodhew of ultra faint targets.

It is great to see amateurs and amateur organisations creating such resources.
