Asteroids (and even planets!) are a known hazard for supernova hunters but recently a much slower moving interloper became an unwitting suspect (AT2020fx). Despite its approach being obvious in the postage stamp archive images on the TNS website
(right DSS(red), left SDSS, centre PANSTARRS)
a high proper motion red star passed scrutiny and it took a spectrum to spot it for what it was.
