Hi,
I would like to note there is an excellent new astronomy book that has just been published. It is titled:
THE (not so) LITTLE BOOK OF ASTRONOMICAL CURIOSITIES: and Explanations of Celestial Phenomena
You can take a “look inside” on the Amazon site, which shows you the full text of the first five topics as well as the table of contents of all the topics. You will see that there are about 59 topics and then some appendices which are covered in almost 300 pages. Included are several topics which do relate to the history of astronomy. The topics are very interesting, the writing is crystal clear, and the book is loaded with great images and diagrams.
This is a truly enjoyable read and it filled in many important holes in my knowledge of astronomy. I am friends with the author, Bob Douglas, who is an accomplished amateur astronomer and professional mathematician of the highest caliber, and was privileged to be one of the people who had a chance to give him some input before the book was put into print. This is definitely a favorite in my astronomy library, you can check it out here:

The UK site does not yet have any reviews, but the US site has a couple already if you are interested:
