We have a SolarMax II Double Stack 60 used for educational outreach. I’m hoping someone might be able to shed some light on a couple of questions I have on its design and on how it can be used.
Am I right in that the front etalon can be removed? Using only the internal etalon will increase the bandpass, but produce a brighter image. Which brings me to my next question – do both the internal and external etalons include an ERF? If not, then would it be unwise to use it as a ‘single stack’ instrument – or does the rear blocking filter do all of the “eye protecting”.
Best wishes,
Paul
