Gordon Taylor Lantern Slides

Many of you will have known of the late Gordon Taylor who was Director of the BAA Computing Section for many years. Today the NLO held a Space Exploration Day with Exeter University Space.Exe Society. One of our visitors was Mervyn Taylor (son) who very kindly presented the NLO with this fine collection of Victorian lantern slides belonging to his father. They are displayed here on our lightbox. The photograph included shows Gordon with his 50cm reflector at “Five Firs”.
We were also presented with a fine astro-navigation compass that was used to navigate aircraft using the main navigation stars.
