A complete 22° Lunar halo was visible tonight at 23:00 UTC from Fillongley, North Warwickshire. Slight colour fringes were visible and the sky was noticably darker inside the halo.
The meteorological context (the analysis chart above is the UKMET 00:00 UTC October 6th. data point) was an approaching cyclonic system (972hPa) situated to the north of Scotland and moving NE with associated warm and doubled cold fronts. Barometric pressure in eastern England being ≅1006hPa, a sharp west/east pressure gradient had resulted.
