For those of us, who are unable to travel to the continental USA.

Today’s eclipse is live on your computer, from 17:00hrs.

Paul, that is great, thank you. If it is clear here in Nottingham (not looking good at present) I was planning to try and watch the start of it, but the forecast is awful, and I don’t finish work until 7:30. That link will allow me to feel part of it.

    That was incredible.

Watching the BBC News footage from Kentucky, 1925 our time. Clear prominences visible at the 2 30, 4 and 6 o’clock positions on the solar disc.

Great images – not at all jealous Nick!

We’ve started a brief article on the front page to showcase these as they come in. So pleased the weather was good.

    James,

Thanks. I’ve just got back to the hotel in Kearney. We had quite a long trip to Tryon this morning since the weather prediction for around here was not good. From the messages I’ve received it looks as if many BAA people saw it from various places (Idaho, Jackson and Casper and further down the track).

Two years until the next one!

    Nick.

    Hi Nick,

A worthwhile trip I fancy. Excellent set of images.

It was also nice to see the Sun put on her own show, with that large Sunspot group, visible during the partial phases.

It was a shame. The BBC didn’t get involved with a special SGL or S&N program…
