ATel 14656 reports a nova in M81 at mag 19.6 on 2021-05-22.859. The object designated PNV J09553378+6904293 is located at: RA 9h55m33s.78, DEC +69o04’29”.3 (2000.0), which is 3.3″ east and 34.2″ north of the centre of M81.
It should be well within range of a number of people here and I’d give it a try if I were in La Palma.
