Paper on the variability of the blazar OJ 287 includeds BAA authors

VSS observers have been following this interesting object for many years. Several of them appear as co-authors in this new paper accepted for publication in ApJS (The Astrophysical Journal Supplement).

Another good example of pro-am collaboration. Congratulations to all involved!

BAA authors include: David Boyd, Guy Hurst, Denis Buczynski, Mark Kidger, Nick James, Martin Mobberley, Roger Pickard and Gary Poyner. Please let me know if I missed any names in my scan of the author list.

I’ve made hundreds of R, V and B observations of OJ 287 since 2024 but I never seem to feature in any papers. See image.

I’ve just seen that it’s 2618 magnitude values!
