Those interested in nice equipment from the present and past might be interested in this website that Rob Miller, he of Astro Promotions, Luton, in the 70s and 80s, who later emigrated to the States and designed the Astro-Physics and Paramount series of mounts, has set up.http://www.catamountsystems.comThe "gallery" shows an incredible array of fine telescope engineering that he did before he emigrated, and one can clearly see the prototypes of the Astro-Physics mounts there. It’s nice to discover they originated not in Illinois but in "good old Luton".He seems now to have set up a new company, the name of which must be intended to put people in mind of the Paramount while not infringing what is presumably Bisque’s copyright. I hope it does well.

What a name from the past, my first telescope was a 6" Newtonian made by Rob Miller in 1981, in fact I still have it as well as my 6" Celestron Nexstar 6 SE.Found a couple of photos of it that I have just scanned, what a wonderful telescope it was and still is.

I like that. Nice observatory with an agreeable rough-hewn character. Does that till exist?
