We had a good meeting at Winchester last Saturday and one of the topics of conversation was the amateur 67P observing campaign. I hope that as many comet observers as possible will sign up here. The campaign is working on a set of observing notes, a draft of which is attached. If you have any comments on these please let me know. I’m happy to feed them back and handle any questions that you might have. My talk from Saturday which mentions the campaign is online here. The other talks from a very enjoyable meeting will be online shortly.
As of this morning 67P has been recovered following conjunction at around mag 16.8 by Maury, Soulier and Bosch. Their image is here. Observations are difficult at the moment since the comet is low in the morning twilight but things will improve as the elongation increases.
