I came across this page https://skyandtelescope.org/observing/interactive-sky-watching-tools/mars-which-side-is-visible/ when looking for an online tool to display which bit of Mars you are looking at on any given night. I thought it was worth sharing for those of you who are, like myself, rookie Mars observers! It contains an explanation of how to use the tool and what some of the numbers mean. It contains a link to the profiler itself https://skyandtelescope.org/wp-content/plugins/observing-tools/mars_profiler/mars.html. What is good is that it has telescope type buttons which will alter the view according to the telescope setup you have. Very useful. Also tells you the central meridian longitude (CM) you are looking at which people quote. It would be nice if it was shown as a globe rather than a projected map.
