I have been investigating the potential for removing contamination in spectra of supernovae near the centre of their host galaxy using archived galaxy spectra, from SDSS for example. A preliminary result on a known supernova, SN 2021J looked promising and I have now used the technique to officially confirm and classify SN 2021huw. Details on my BAA page
