I have been interested in astronomy since I was at school in about 1965-1966, which was the subject of an English class project. I was not influenced by watching Patrick Moore, in fact I don't think I had even heard of him! My main interest is in the history of astronomy, in particular that of the the life and work of Edward Walter Maunder and his family; BAA (currently creating an historical database of all members since 1890), history of English astronomy. As well as the database of members, I have created a further one of the BAA Council, its officers, post holders, medallists, etc. I would be interested in hearing from any member (past or present) who can help me with information about past and current members. If necessary, I can help with sources, etc. Until I retired I was a Charge Nurse on a children's Intensive Care Unit at St. George's Hospital. I am a FRAS, and a member of the SHA and the SPA. I have contribute articles to the BAA Journal, Astronomy Now, Antiquarian Astronomer. I also studied the History of Science at Imperial College, Univ. of London, gaining an MSc in 1997.
