Variable Star Section Director for SPA (2008-2015) BAA Council Member (2016-2017) I first started my journey in astronomy back in 1986. During this time Halley's Comet was making its return and I got caught up in the interest of astronomy. Its been with me ever since. I became firm friends with Sir Patrick Moore also during this time and we remained friends until his passing in 2012. These days my main observational focus is on the visual observation of variable stars, meteors and the moon. I am heavily involved in public outreach and engagement and a past trustee of an astronomical charity. Please feel free to contact me if you would like any further information, help or tips on observing or astronomy in general.
