Hello! I was born in Stornoway, Isle of Lewis, but grew up in Aberdeenshire. I’ve lived in Edinburgh, York, Dundee, and I’m now living in Stonehaven near Aberdeen. I’m a Clinical Scientist by profession. I’ve been very interested in Astronomy since 7 or 8 years of age, inspired by the late great Patrick Moore .... I still have the little Observer’s book on Astronomy, the one with Saturn in false colour on the cover, my first astronomy book. My astronomy interests are very general .... Most of all I really want to get confident in using my small equatorial refractor that I’ve had for years. I‘d like to observe and even perhaps sketch lunar features, star clusters, and binaries. Many years ago I was a member of the Junior Astronomical Society, and I gave observing variable stars a go, I’d like to get back in to those observations again, maybe, if I can pluck up the courage to do some serious observing. Other than astronomy my other main interests are chess and trying to play trumpet.
