I'm based in the South Wales Valleys - a far from ideal location for astronomy!  I enjoy general observing and imaging, solar imaging, and particularly sharing the wonders of the Universe with anyone who will listen (particularly children)!  I'm a STEM ambassador and an associate of the Faulkes Telescope Project.  More recently my focus has been on comets, including running schools' observing campaigns - inspiring the next generation of comet scientist? Since 2017 I have been studying part-time for a PhD at the Open University (with Colin Snodgrass) entitled 'Observing Rosetta's Comets:  ground-based campaigns'.  My main focus is studying data collected by amateurs and schools, and looking at how observing campaigns can be made most effective.  (This is all quite a change from being a goverment accountant!) I lead the Comet Chasers Project www.cometchasers.org I am the Director of BAA's Education and Outreach Section.
