I've been interested in astronomy since I was 13, building my own 6" reflector with my father when I was 14 and being one of the first people to pass GCSE (then O level !!) in Astronomy at the age of 15. Astronomy has been a life long hobby for me. In my professional life I have a chair at Imperial College in Aeronautics, but this is nothing to do with astronomy ! I have been particularly interested in astronomical imaging, firstly with film from back when I was a teenager, to the first CCD cameras in the mid 1990s. I have a range of digital cameras now, including dedicated astronomical cameras and a couple of DSLRs. I have a permanent observatory, a Skypod dome, housing a 10" Meade LX200 and various smaller scopes, often piggy-backed on the main scope. I like imaging anything astronomical, but have a particular interest in Deep Sky objects. I recently spent four years as chairman of the Andover AS and was a founder member of the Cody AS in Farnborough.
