About this image

The Cat's Eye is a bright but tiny planetary nebula a fraction of the size of the Ring Nebula.  Part of the faint outer nebulosity is identified as IC 4677. In this double image I've concentrated on the inner nebula in the upper image and the outer shell in the lower image. Total field of view is 11.6 arc minutes by 6.5 arc minutes.  North is up.
