Title
Uranus and five moons
About this image
I've struggled in the past with colour planetary cameras to capture the main moons as well as Uranus, either reverting to mono cameras or using a deep sky colour camera so this was a good opportunity with a more sensitve planetary camera on a steady night of seeing.

Nice Peter,
What f-ratio and camera settings for this? Did you use 16 bit or 8 bit capture?
Cheers
Martin
Thanks Martin
I was operating at approximately f/20 as without an ADC or filter wheel the 2x Barlow was close to its intended ratio of 2x. I used 8 bit capture and 500 ms exposures for the moons but ran several sets at varying gain levels, the one used was one of two stacks that had the most obvious signs of Miranda in them. For Uranus itself I ran six 4,000 frame videos at 30 ms and then derotated stacks of the best 25% of each video in WinJUPOS.

Well done!
I have still to capture Miranda. Will give it a try again now that I am back in La Palma.
