Hello all,
It is with regret that I have to report the sad news that our great friend and colleague Glyn Marsh died this morning at 04:30 in hospital in the Isle of Man. He passed away peacefully with his wife Christine and family present. There will be a family funeral on the Isle of Man and a church service for him in Preston. Details of the date will be announced.

This is very sad and shocking news Denis. Hard to take it in. Glyn would do anything to help anyone and seemed to have boundless energy for telescope and observatory construction projects. Frustrated by my experience with commercial gas-hypered film (and my own attempts at hypering) in the early 1990s I’d almost given up, but then Glyn offered to hyper all my Kodak 2415 reels for free with his own home-made facility. His stuff was far better than the commercial stuff…..and free! Just one example of his generosity……. Very hard to believe he has gone.
I too was very shocked to hear that Glyn had passed away. On the occasions we met up at BAA meetings he was a good bloke to be with – friendly, funny and above all extremely knowledgable. He could make a great Comet too.
What with Glyn and Melvyn Taylor passing away last week, it’s not been a good month.
